Addresses Overview
Use the address functions in Civic Platform to keep track of the addresses and owners related to an asset or work order. Addresses added to Civic Platform are stored in a central database referred to as a reference database.
A reference database acts as a library that allows users to search for certain types of stored information. For example, you may need to search for an existing address when creating a new work order or asset. Reference data saves you time by storing standardized records that you can search for and easily associate with a work order or asset.
Depending on your privileges, you may be able to create a new reference addresses as well as modify existing address records from the reference database. Once you add a reference address, you cannot delete it. You can, however, disable it and prevent users from associating the address with new work orders or assets.
